Governor Sarah Palin criticized Senator Barack Obama for his connection with education professor Bill Ayers

Bill Ayers
last Saturday during a GOP Campaign fundraiser in Englewood Colorado. Ayers, who now holds the honor of Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago, was once a radical anti-war protester who contributed to the bombing of state and federal propriety during the 1960’s. Palin’s comment came after a New York Times article that ran on Friday outlining Obama and Ayers loose administrative connection while serving together on an educational charity board.
Palins statements attacked Obama for his connection Ayers. “Well, I was reading my copy of today’s New York Times and I was really interested to read about Barack’s friends from Chicago,” Palin told the crowd. “Turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man who, according to The New York Times was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol.’ These are the same guys who think patriotism is paying higher taxes. This is not a man who sees America as you and I do — as the greatest force for good in the world. This is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country. This, ladies and gentlemen, has nothing to do with the kind of change anyone can believe in — not my kids and not your kids.”
Barrack Obama during Bill Ayers radical anti-war protesting days
Although Obama and Ayers live in the same neighborhood in Chicago’s Hyde Park and Ayers hosted a fundraiser during Obama’s first bid for state Senate the Obama campaign denies any political connection with Ayers. Obama, who was still in grade school during Ayers radical anti-war protesting days describes Ayers as, “a guy who lives in my neighborhood” and “somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know.”
